Writing Workshops with Sharon Bray writer's 2011

Writing Workshops with Sharon Bray, Ed.D. Acclaimed workshop leader and author Sharon Bray leads workshops through the Arts, Humanities and Medicine Program open to anyone with a connection to the medical school or affiliated hospitals (including alumni, faculty, staff, housestaff, students, volunteers). Space is limited and sign-up required.   Sample testimonial from a past participant:

"Sharon is an extraordinary teacher, whose gift is to create a setting where anyone, regardless of writing experience or talent, can feel comfortable in allowing his or her personal emotions to find expression in words. This is an unusual gift. Sharon does not teach writing, but instead, encourages writers to develop their personal voices. That distinction is important, particularly when the participants are busy professionals, whose writing is usually limited to record keeping, public speaking, or the creation of scientific articles. By encouraging them to write from their heart felt experiences, Sharon helps these professionals to become better at what they do--deal with people in their day to day professional roles--because they are themselves more comfortable with feeling and expressing emotions.

Sharon's unique gift makes each class a remarkable meeting, where the participants are often surprised at where their writing takes them, the experiences it brings up from memory, the feelings they consequently re-discover. These workshops change the participants. I know, because I am changed myself, and in ways that make me more fully engaged as a person, with others."
