Medicine and the Muse

Medicine and the Muse, an Arts, Humanities and Medicine Symposium, was held at Cantor Arts Center Auditorium on Monday, May 7th, 2007. The keynote speaker was Stephen Bergman, M.D. Dr. Bergman, a.k.a. Samuel Shem (his penname), gave a talk discussing his book, House of God . In addition to his address, the event featured art, presentations, posters and music by Stanford medical students. Medicine and the Muse was supported by generous grants from The Osher Foundation, The Vera M. Wall Center at Stanford, the Drs. Ben and A. Jess Shenson Fund, and Helen and Peter Bing.
